Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
- No ads, ever. We don't sell or rent anyone's information, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
- A grown-up creates the account. Children never give us an email address, a phone number or a photo.
- We only keep what the library needs to work: what your little ones read, their stars and their reading time.
- You can see, change or delete your family's information at any time.
Who we are
WhizzBee is a picture-book library for children aged 5 to 10, run by Stellite Works LLC, 691 N Squirrel Road, LL 160, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, USA. In this policy "we" means WhizzBee. You can reach us any time at hello.whizzbee@gmail.com.
What we collect
From the grown-up who sets up the account
- Your name and email address.
- A password (we only keep a scrambled version that can't be turned back into your password), or, if you use "Continue with Google", the name and email address Google shares with us.
- Your subscription details: your plan, trial dates and payment history. Card details are typed into Stripe's secure page and go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
About your children (always added by you)
- A first name or nickname for each child (up to 4).
- Their reading buddy, and how they sign in: just tapping their buddy, 3 secret pictures, or a 4-number PIN. Pictures and PINs are kept scrambled.
- What they do in the library: books read or listened to, coloring pages finished, Spotlight Words collected, stars, minutes spent, daily streaks and favourites. This builds their Buzz Board and the Activity page you see in the Parent area.
- The daily reading time you choose for them.
We never ask a child for an email address, a phone number, a photo, where they live, or anything that would let someone contact them. Children can't send messages or talk to anyone in WhizzBee.
When you ask for a personalized or printed book
The order form asks for your name and email, and (for a personalized story) your child's first name, age, what they love, a lesson for the story and any notes you choose to add. We use this only to make and deliver your book and to reply to you.
Things kept only on your device
Your sign-in, which child is reading, the family code (so kids don't have to type it again), where each book was left open, and pictures saved to My Art are kept in your browser's own storage on that device. They aren't advertising cookies and they don't track you anywhere else.
Technical information
Like every website, our hosting provider sees basic technical details (such as your IP address and browser type) when pages load, and uses them to keep the site secure and working. We don't use analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
- To run your account and the library: show the right books, remember progress, give stars, and stop reading time when the limit is reached.
- To take payments and send the emails that go with them (your welcome email and receipts).
- To make personalized and printed books you order.
- To answer your questions and keep WhizzBee safe and working.
We never use your family's information for advertising, and we never sell it.
Children's privacy
WhizzBee is made for children, so we follow children's privacy laws, including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- A parent or guardian is always in charge. Only an adult can create an account, and they confirm it with a payment card or their Google account. Children are added by that grown-up in the Parent area.
- We collect as little as possible about children: only what is listed above, and only to run the library for them.
- You can review, change or delete your child's information. In the Parent area you can rename a child or remove them. To see everything we hold, or to delete it all, email us and we'll do it within 30 days.
- We don't let children share personal information with anyone, and nothing a child does is shown to other families.
Who helps us (and what they see)
We use a small number of trusted companies to run WhizzBee. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
| Company | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website and safely stores accounts and reading progress. |
| Stripe | Takes card payments and manages subscriptions. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the card details you give them. |
| "Continue with Google" sign-in (if you choose it), and sending our emails from our Gmail account. | |
| Google Fonts and jsDelivr | Deliver the letters and icons the pages use. They see the technical details your browser sends when it loads them. |
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect children or our users from harm.
How long we keep it
We keep your family's information while your account is open. If you close your account or ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days, except payment records we must keep for tax and accounting (kept by Stripe and in our books, without your children's details).
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over a secure (https) connection. Passwords, picture passwords and PINs are stored scrambled. The Parent area asks for your password again before anything can be changed, and children's sign-ins can't reach it.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct or download your family's information.
- Delete a child, or your whole account and everything in it.
- Cancel your subscription at any time (see Cancellation & Refunds).
Depending on where you live (for example in California, the UK or the European Union) you may have extra rights under local law. Email hello.whizzbee@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your family's information, we'll update this page and email the account's grown-up before the change applies.
